Table Talk 3 June 1926.

One of the prettiest weddings celebrated at the Toorak Presbyterian Church for some time was that of Miss Nell Allan, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Allan of Sydney, with Mr Owen Rees, only son of the late Mr C.L. Rees and Mrs Rees, of “Manoah”, Wellington Street, Middle Brighton, which took place on Wednesday evening, May 19. Trails of autumn foliage and fern, and masses of hydrangea and chrysanthemums provided lovely church decorations. The Rev. K. Forster, M.A., officiated, and Mr Hudson presided at the organ…

The Bride’s shimmering frock of silver lame had a fully flared skirt, finished in front with beautiful roses, fashioned of velvet and silver tissue, and a spray of the same flowers rested at one shoulder. Shell pink rucked georgette lined her train of cream satin brocade, over which fell a lightly embroidered tulle veil, confined to the head with a coronet of silver petals and orange blossom buds. Her large sheaf bouquet was of pink gladioli, orchids and carnations…

Wedding tea was served at 9 Darling Street, South Yarra, where tawny chrysanthemum and autumn foliage brightened the reception rooms, and the tables were docked with pink cactus dahlias and cosmos…

When leaving for Sydney the following day, Mrs Owen Rees wore a coat frock of caramel Kasha, with a velvet hat to tone, and a skunk fur.
